About the Brand
The history of “Cascina San Cassiano” is deeply linked to the ancient origin of the Abbey of San Frontiniano, which was later renamed the Abbey of San Cassiano over the centuries. According to a legend, on 23 October 311 AD, about a mile from Alba, the martyrdom of Saints Frontiniano and Cassiano took place by the Roman imperial assassins: on their tomb, during the Longobardic domination, a large officiated abbey church was built. first by the monks of S. Colombano and then later by the Benedictines of Breme. In 1868 it was renamed “Cascina San Cassiano”, put up for auction and sold to private individuals. In 1927 the structure was purchased by the Rossetto family and converted into a farm for the cultivation of fruit and vegetables and for the breeding of dairy cows; starting from 1990 the estate was used as a food company and in 2005 expanded with the construction of the shed adjacent to the old structure.
