Grana Padano has a long history but it’s still young, open to a more sustainable future. The Grana Padano Consortium continues its journey “Young producers” of showcasing the passion and dedication of young entrepreneurs behind the production of Grana Padano DOP.
The first Italian digital farmer, Matt The Farmer, known for his expertise in sustainable agriculture and his large social media following, has taken on the role of exploring the lives of young cheesemakers, farmers, and technicians. These individuals, based in regions like Bergamo, Brescia, and Trentino, share how they maintain and innovate within the long-standing traditions of producing Grana Padano. The series not only highlights their dedication but also emphasizes how they have integrated modern methods while preserving the heritage of this well-loved cheese.
The format spans six episodes, each dedicated to a different protagonist, from the care of livestock to the complex aging process of Grana Padano. Featuring young professionals like Gabriele, a plant manager, Camilla, a quality technician, and Alessio, a 20-year-old cheesemaker, it provides a behind-the-scenes look at the entire cheese-making process. This format aims to appeal to younger generations through relatable narratives and the familiar environment of social media.
The episodes are available on the Grana Padano Consortium’s social channels, including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, with multilingual subtitles to reach a broader international audience. As President Renato Zaghini emphasizes, the goal is to inspire and educate people worldwide about Grana Padano through the voices of the new generation, thereby strengthening the cheese’s reputation and ensuring its future growth
